Sri Lanka quick bowler Suranga Lakmal has been fined for rupturing Level 1 of the ICC Code for Players and Players Support Personnel amid his side's Pool A match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 against England at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington on Sunday.

Lakmal was fined 30 every penny of his match expense by David Boon of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, after he confessed to breaking Article 2.1.8, that identifies with 'behavior in spite of the soul of the diversion'.

The episode happened in the 50th over of England's innings when Lakmal rocked the bowling alley a second successive high full pitched ball to Jos Buttler, in the wake of being given a first and only cautioning by on-field umpire Rod Tucker prior amid the same over. The bowler was ceased from playing and answered to the ICC Match Referee, as is needed under Clause 42.4.2 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 playing conditions, identifying with Dangerous and Unfair Bowling.

Clarifying his choice, Mr Boon said: "While settling on my choice, I considered that it is was perilous and unjustifiable knocking down some pins, there were no relieving circumstances, and there was no regret from the bowler."

The charge was laid by on-field umpires Bruce Oxenford and Rod Tucker, third umpire Chris Gaffaney and fourth umpire Simon Fry.

All Level 1 ruptures convey a base punishment of an authority censure and/or a most extreme punishment of 50 every penny of a player's match expense.
