The Summer Placement season at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies corroborated this adage by securing 100% placements in record time with its students garnering a comprehensive set of profiles across the entire industrial spectrum.
Despite a gloomy economic scenario marked by vacillating investor sentiment, JBIMS once again triumphed against the odds and has concluded the summer placement season with impeccable figures and in quick time. With a multitude of revered companies offering an array of coveted profiles across a plethora of sectors, the adroit pupillage of the celebrated institute has been endowed with a pivotal chance to foray into the corporate world.
The season not only witnessed continued hiring by legacy recruiters, who yet again vested their faith in the erudition of students, but also saw the genesis of relationships with new recruiters. Despite the challenges posed by the economic slowdown, the recruiters attributed paramount importance to the ingenuity and dexterity of the students by hiring in numbers and offering profiles along the breadth and depth of various business domains that span across industries.
Batch Profile
The diversity of the batch is reflected in the fact that it contains a mix of engineers, doctors, pharmacists, entrepreneurs, physiotherapists and architects, comprising the best talent from across the country. Engineers with experience in diverse fields such as IT consultancy, construction, power sector, banking services, shipping industry and social media form the core of the batch. Consequently, the versatile backgrounds of the students attracted diverse and niche profiles from different companies.

Sector Wise Analysis
BFSI & IB
In line with the trend of past placement seasons, the BFSI sector continued to recruit students from JBIMS in large numbers with companies such as Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, J P Morgan Chase, ICICI Bank, Nomura, CRISIL, Development Credit Bank, HDFC Property Ventures, ICICI Prudential AMC, Metlife, Tata Capital, CIMB Securities, Finstream etc. visiting campus and reinforcing JBIMS as one of the best finance destinations of the country. Attractive roles like investment banking, equity research, transaction banking, retail banking etc were on offer for the students.
FMCG & PHARMA
JBIMS continued its association with FMCG majors such as Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, ITC, Dabur, HCCB, General Mills, etc and fostered new relationships with sought after corporates such as Marico, Nivea, Kellogg’s etc., which resulted in a large percentage of the batch being offered diverse and attractive roles in the FMCG sector. In addition to the traditional sales and marketing roles, fresh profiles like operations and corporate finance were also offered. The Pharmaceutical and allied industry also made its presence felt in a big way with industry majors like GSK Pharmaceuticals, Abbott, DSM, Sanofi, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim visiting the campus and recruiting a good number of candidates.
MANUFACTURING, CONGLOMERATES & REAL ESTATE
Diverse profiles across multiple domains were offered by leading business conglomerates such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Raymond, Larsen and Toubro, Godrej and Boyce as a part of the summer internship program. Students had the opportunity to choose from varied profiles such as FMP, General Management, SCM, Reverse SCM, Logistics and EPC. The real estate, chemical and manufacturing domain saw the participation of industry majors such as Schlumberger, Cummins, AkzoNobel, Jaipur Rugs etc. These companies hired in good numbers from the campus strengthening their association with JBIMS.
CONSULTING & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Consulting and IT, as always, were among the popular profiles. Consulting roles were offered by reputed companies like Jones Lang LaSalle, Tata Consultancy Services, Capegemini, Fidelity Management Research, Wipro etc. Real estate consulting and HR consulting were some of the niche profiles offered in this domain.
MEDIA & TELECOM
Varied profiles were offered to the students in these sectors providing an ideal opportunity to kickstart their careers. The increasing recognition and impact of the students of JBIMS in the industry was exemplified by the presence of companies like Vodafone, DraftFCB Ulka, Brand Care, Channel Play etc.
OTHERS
Along with the above companies, the other participating companies from diverse sectors were Flipkart, Ginger Hotels, Mattel Toys, Syngenta, People’s Group, etc.
Recruiters from leading organizations had glowing recommendations for our students.
