MBAs from abroad are coming back to India due to economic crisis in US and Europe. Many of the Indian students have gone to US by education loan. Now they are back in India and ready to take up any jobs to repay the loans. Is it worth spending so much of money and time studying abroad during financial meltdown? I’m still looking for top B-schools abroad for my higher studies. Can you all intelligent people out there share your views.

meghat40 it totally depends on your intentions of pursuing MBA.

Is MBA only a means to an end of pursuing a fat paycheck job? if your answer to this question is yes, then it doesnt make sense going abroad for your MBA given the current meltdown.

Which Bschools do you think you will get accepted in? Are these bschools of global repute? What's the USP of the Bschool and is that in sync with your predicted career path ?

Also, if you are aiming to get into Harward, Oxford, Wharton, Stanford or a bschool of that repute, the meltdown shouldnt really bother you :)

hi ,am doin my final yr proj in systems regarding the advantages and risks involved in IT Outsourcing. do help me frame the objectives.

There are many benefits of taking up global education. The wide cultural differences will give you a broader outlook. You instantly become a global citizen the moment you enroll for higher studies abroad. I agree with Kartik’s view, pursuing higher studies abroad is not only about a fat paycheck but it’s about the exposure as well. Get in touch with the experts, do some research work about good colleges. You can try this link Global Education Initiatives| Higher Education in US for Indian Students . They have a specially designed program to prepare Indian students for higher studies in the United States. Good luck.

Thank you all for sharing your views. MBA is not only about fat paycheck- very true. I’m looking forward to pursue my MBA in US sooner or later.
