Star Sports Sangharsh 2016 Day 2 Update - IIM Ahmedabad
Day 2 of Star Sports Sangharsh 2016, the annual inter-IIM sports battle between the top four B-schools in the country was indeed a treat to watch. The scorecard after day 1 reflected the close fight between the teams - there was no clear takers for the cup after day 1 and all four colleges were out to change that.
The day started off well for the home team, with the Frisbee team registering a 15-1 victory against Lucknow. It was quite evident that Frisbee playing was an ingrained tradition amongst the wimwians - they were scoring with ease in the ground.
In the indoor arena, IIM Calcutta won against Lucknow in a well fought Snooker match to book a place in the finals. However, their victory was offset by a defeat in squash against the home team, which booked a place in the finals.

While it was a good start for A overall, the afternoon did get rough. The home team suffered a defeat against Bangalore on the basketball court despite having a sizeable crowd sledging away at the opposition. The women's basketball team from Calcutta bulldozed through to the final, crushing the Bangalore team 22-2 with an incredible display of teamwork.
The badminton court saw two neat victories, with Bangalore beating Lucknow 3-0 and Ahmedabad beating Calcutta 3-1. Although the score lines state otherwise, the games were well fought with some stunning rallies for the audience.

Meanwhile, in the swimming pool, the home team added to its medal tally with a gold and bronze at the 50m men's freestyle.
The show stopper of the day, however, was the Kabaddi tournament powered by Star Sports, held at the Louis Kahn Plaza. Given the sport's increasing prominence off late, the event attracted a good crowd, a majority of whom were first time spectators. As the games started, however, the cheering got intense, and could be heard in every nook and corner of campus.

With a lot of finals lined up for the next 24 hours, day 3 of Sangharsh promises to be a treat for all. The title trophy is still open, and all teams are sure to hit the floor with all guns blazing.
