Rumors were spreading that the Hollywood legend had kicked the bucket, taking after the distribution of an article on games and popular society blog Grantland recently.
The disarray was started by a feature that ran on the site Tuesday expressing "The Greatest Living American Actor at 85: Gene Hackman Is Gone But Still in Charge," prodding Rumors that Hackman, who is truth be told 84-years of age, had passed on.
The feature has since been changed from "Gone" to "Resigned." Hackman turns 85 on Friday.
