Hello,

I would like to discuss that is all the social networking sites are giving good competition to job portals?

I would say tht professional n/w sites like linkedin, peerpower are eating into the marketshare of the job sites like Naukri or Monster. In professional n/w you establish contact with HR directly and thereby you can know about the job opputunities in the organisation. You send the CV to the HR or to the employee and thereby eliminate middlemen. HR will also know about a particular candidate thru his linkedin profile.

both have their pros and cons..........................................................................................

Dude!!! social networking sites like facebook acts a great repository for jobs. The HR of many multinationals also use this as a tool for candidates background search!!! They check what communities you are in what kind of applications you use, what level is your social interactions and status updates etc etc. They have a clear picture about your character and nature. Where as a job site is where you can manipulate your profile resume according to your preference but not real interaction is found there. Yes i also agree that both these sources have it own pros and cons. Do you get the picture???

who uses linkedin as a social networking thing? i think it is really important to have an linkedin account. you can get in contact with people all over this world. so much great fun to meet colleages worldwide.
