Social networking is the grouping of individuals into specific groups. For online social networking, websites are commonly used. These websites are known as social sites. Social networking websites function like an online community of Internet users. Depending on the website in question, many of these online community members share common interests in hobbies, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can begin to socialize. This socialization may include reading the profile pages of other members and possibly even contacting them.

Do you agree that social networking sites distract from education?
 
Social Networking site helps us to stay in touch with friends who were with us through thick and thin of school and college life. We can share a great amount of knowledge through social networking sites which is not possible by postal or telecom services. Ex- community,blogs,forums etc.
 
Swati Rao i know its good in some matters but what about teenagers. I think social media distracts scholars or teenage students off their education. There are plenty of students spend their most of the time on social media sites and unable to concentrate on their study and goals properly. We need to reverse or stop such kind of craze otherwise there will be a great loss in our education results.
