PRODUCTION PROCESS
The raw materials required for manufacturing PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) insulated wires and cables are: PVC, copper and aluminum. The company has two machines for the manufacturing of wires and cables. The process of manufacturing wire is first the PVC is made in PVC machine. It is then transferred to the processing machine where the actual wires and cables are made. In the processing machine the copper or aluminum is made into the size in which it is to be manufactured. When the copper or aluminum is brought into the size it is being cleaned with water so that the waste or any other material, which is present due to processing, is washed away. After the cleaning process the wire is insulated with PVC, which is being supplied during the processing of wire. The PVC is first melted and then the coating is done on the wire. The PVC is available in different colors so as to differentiate it from others or as per the orders from the client. The wire is then ready and rolled in a particular number of meters or as per the order from the client. The rolled wire or cables is then packed and sent to the client.
PRODUCTION DETAILS

The payment transaction is mostly done in cheque with the suppliers. Advance is given on the time of ordering the raw materials and the rest payment is given on the delivery of whole material. The company keeps around 3-4 suppliers because a supplier is not able to provide the goods on time or not available to take their orders the company can approach another supplier. The production capacity of the wires and cables depends on the type of material and the size of wire or cable etc. the company at an average produces 10000 meters of electrical wire per day. If the company is producing television cables the production of that is around 7000-8000 per day. But the company does not produce one product on one single day it tries to produce both cables and wire. It also depends on the order they get from other company or clients. The company has employed around 10 workers for the production and controlling the machines, a supervisor to see that the production is going well and he also looks after the supply of raw materials and the finished goods and an accountant who looks after the payment to the suppliers, payment from clients, salaries to workers and maintains the books of accounts for the company. Hence the total numbers of workers are 12. The company’s sales are around 8-10 lacs per month and the profit percentage is around 10-12 %. The company does not export directly but their clients export a lot to other countries.
PROBLEMS
The company faces a problem of storage of raw material or finished goods. If the client does not collect its goods on time then the company faces the problem of storing the raw material, which comes during the starting of the month. The raw materials are stored near the finished goods, which creates confusion sometimes and also interruption for the workers to pass. The company also does not have space to install new machine and expand their business. The company wants to expand their production unit at the same place but due to no space or non-availability of space in the premises, the company can’t expand. The company has a lot of ability to expand the business, but it does not regret about this and is happy with the present situation.
