R.B.COMMERCIAL CORPORATION, a small scale industry was started on 8th December, 1960 by late Shri Gajendrabhai Ramniklal Kapasi. It started with trading activities, thus the name “COMMERCIAL CORPORATION” exists.
G.R.Kapasi the founder dedicated the name “R.B”. ‘R’ stands for Ramniklal, his respected father and ‘B’ stands for Bharatiben his loving wife.
Shri G.R.K. started his career in Mumbai. He came from Gujarat without any financial assistance. He began as Account Assistant for a mere salary of 120/- per month. He himself was a NON TECHNICAL but because of his inner zest, desire and will could successfully accomplish the task of starting to manufacture ISI Marked Quality HRC Fuses, a highly technical product and that too indigenously. He has proved the Quotation right viz., if there is a will there is a way.
His loving, humorous, helping and social nature made him very popular in LOHAR CHAWL viz., the ‘ELECTRICAL MARKET’ of Mumbai, a part of electrical Merchants Association. He will always be remembered for his ever enthusiasm and lively nature.
The firm started manufacturing HRC Fuses in 1976, formally Round type/Bolted Pattern were manufactured as per IS: 2208. They produce fuses ranging from 0.2 - 630 amperes. The Manufacturing Business was started with sum of Rs. 10,000/- which was financed by Bank of Baroda, Zaveri Bazaar Branch. The company also retails their products through Licensed Agents and Dealers. His goal of getting ISO 9000 certification was accomplished in 2001. He worked very hard to get the approval from Indian Railways.
In 1983 the firm, got Indian Standards License to mark ISI on their fuses. Since then and till this day the firm is having the license for 25 years.
This firm is a sole proprietorship in which Mr. G.R. Kapasi is the sole proprietor. The company has a permanent registration.
Today R.B. Commercial Corporation is in part 1 approved supplier list of RDSO, Lucknow for Non Deteriorating Signalling Fuses Category.

The company produces various types of products such as:
1. Bolted Round type fuses.
2. Bolted type (cylindrical fuses).
3. HRC fuses (High Rupturing Capacity).
4. Knife fuses.
5. Square fuses of German pattern.
6. ‘J’ and ‘G’ type fuses used in Railway signals.
1.Ceramic body.
Ceramic body is purchased from Ahmedabad
2.Copper
Copper is purchased from Gujarat and Daman
3.Silica
Silica is purchased from Gujarat
4.Aluminium
Aluminium is purchased from local market Kalbadevi (Metal market).
A. The Tool Room:
The tool room consist of various machines used to produce parts of the power pressed machines used in manufacturing the various products of the company. In the Tool Room, Leth Machine is regarded as the ‘Mother of Machines’.
B. Cutting the Raw material:
This step includes cutting raw materials like Copper, Aluminium, etc., used for manufacturing fuses.
Following are the metals involved in the process:
1. The thick copper strips which are up to 7 cm in length and 2.5 cm in breadth. These strips act as connectivity between the actual HRC fuses and the fuse bases.
2. The aluminium sheets are used to pack silica in the ceramic body.
3. The thin copper strips used for connectivity inside the fuse.
All the cutting process is carried on with the help of Power Pressed and Hand Pressed Machines.
C. Plating:
The various metal parts used to manufacture the fuses are given plates of silver and tin.
D. Soldering:
In this step, the thin copper strips used for internal connectivity are soldered. These copper elements are regarded as the ‘Heart Beat’ or ‘Life’ of the fuse.
E. Numbering and Screening:
A small description of the fuse manufactured, which includes its name, the amperes (unit), the IS no. etc., is printed on the porcelain body of the fuse.
F. Spot Welding:
Here, the thin copper strips are actually planted in the ceramic body of the fuse and welding is done wherever required.
G. Filling the Silica:
Minute silica quartzes are filled in the ceramic body, which causes better absorption and concentration of heat.
H. Joining the different parts of the fuse:
An Electric Screw driving machine is used to join all the different parts of the fuse together. This is the process which gives us the final body of the product.
I. Resistance checking:
A digital Resistance checking instrument is used to denote the ampere (unit) of each fuse inserted in the instrument’s plates. The total testing time of these fuses is 8 hrs.
J. Cleaning:
The fuse parts once checked are cleaned thoroughly to give a finishing effect.
K. Packing:
Once the fuses are cleaned they are packed in small plastic pouches. As per the stock required by different companies, they are packed in boxes. Each box is labelled which states the number of fuses and their description.
L. Forwarding:
Once the fuses are packed, in big slots they are forwarded to the company who has placed that respective order.
