The ACS Family of Schools ......

The Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) has shaped the lives of hundreds of thousands of students since its founding in 1886. Today, it has grown to a family of six fine schools - ACS (Primary), ACS (Junior), ACS (Barker Road), ACS (Independent), Anglo-Chinese Junior College, and now ACS (International) - with a total enrolment of more than 8,200, blessed with an enviable reputation for producing many of the nation’s outstanding leaders, entrepreneurs and sportsmen.

The ACS brand of education is based on the vision of ACS founder, Bishop William F. Oldham, to develop well-rounded students of strong moral character to excel academically, physically, socially and spiritually. The journey their students take from primary school to junior college is one of discovery, personal development, interaction and the pursuit for excellence. At every stage, ACS prepare them for the many challenges that they will face when they step into society and the real world. It is a memorable journey that fosters camaraderie, encourages a remarkable sense of belonging amongst students, teachers, parents and alumni, and also one that cultivates the inimitable ACS spirit that has made ACS unique amongst schools.

ACS takes great pride in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, and setting benchmarks for others to follow. As it continues to move forward in tandem with the times to meet the needs of the ever-changing modern world, one thing in its brand of education remains unchanged, and that is the sound Christian values and principles that is responsible for the matchless ACS spirit of excellence, service and loyalty.

Anglo-Chinese School (International), a private school – is located at the Buona Vista area near Holland Village.

It caters to Singaporeans and foreigners who are attracted to the Singapore system of education, in particular, the "ACS brand of education". The school embraces the traditions of ACS and is benchmarked against the high standards of ACS (Independent) at Dover Road.

The Ministry of Education has approved the establishment of ACS (International) as a co-educational institution and the Economic Development Board facilitated and assisted in the setting up of the school.

Its establishment is in line with the Government's aim of making Singapore an educational centre of excellence to serve Singaporeans as well as students from the region.

One special feature of the school is the offer of a comprehensive programme consisting of two levels – the first level leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), and the second level of two years for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The combination of IGCSE and IBDP makes ACS (International) unique as no other national school currently offers such programmes.

There are two intakes a year – in January and July – to facilitate students' requirements and meet the convenience of entry for foreign students who have different school years.

A further distinctive feature, underlining the commitment to an all-rounded education will be the inclusion of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme within the school's programme. All students aged 14 and above will be encouraged to take part beginning with the Bronze Award.

Public speaking, deportment and time-management skills will be emphasised to develop young adults with leadership skills into future leaders and global citizens based on Christian values.
