SIBM Bengaluru to conduct Convergence 2013!

Convergence is the flagship operations & IT event of SIBM, Bengaluru. The forum consists of 6 events spread across 2 days, wherein experts from varied industries come together and share their views on the opportunities, challenges faced in the industry. The forum will host a couple of panel discussions on industry hot topics one on each day of the event, a showcase on their best practices by Mumbai Dubbawalas, and Industry veterans sharing their experiences in addition to Kurukshetra - a National Level Operations competition.

The theme for Convergence 2013 is “India Seeks Revival”

India remains a mystery: A country that can offer so much and yet deliver little. Arguments to convince that India is still on track are met with outright scepticism. There is not one but a myriad of problems that plague our country, including a lack of visible leadership. Does contemporary India call for a new order? Convergence 2013 aims to develop and deliberate upon the roadmap for revival of the Indian story.

Mr Samir Inamadar, who has served the president and CEO of major businesses of General Electric in India and as the CEO & Managing Director of Tyco Electronics in India, for over 11 years and Mr Veda Ramachandran, Senior director of Manhattan associates will be opening day 1 of Convergence 2013.

One of the biggest attraction of Convergence 2013 is Rendition, an exhibition by the Mumbai Dabbawalla association on their best practices and their journey towards achieving Six Sigma excellence. Mr Abhishek Ekal, Vice President of Mumbai Dabbawalla association and Mr Sakharam, Member of the Mumbai Dabbawalla association will be gracing the occasion.

Day 2 of Convergence 2013 will be opened by Mr Thampi, CEO of Arowana Consulting.

Convergence 2013 comprises of two panel discussions. Day 1 will feature a discussion on FDI and if FDI is imperative for supply chain integration in India. And Day 2 will feature a discussion on Indian IT’s midlife crisis.

Mr Tarjinder Singh, VP Logistics and Supply chain of Robinson Global, Mr Rajnesh Kumar, Director Supply chain of Entercoms, Mr Parag Patankar, Business strategy head of Oracle, Mr Chandramouli, Senior manager of Zinnov consulting, Mr Rajesh Agarwal, WW Leader-Global Supply Advanced Analytics CoE of IBM, Ms Sonali Khopkar, Associate Director of Capgemini and Mr Ravindra Athayle, Director of Banking and Financial services of CGI have acceded to be a part of the panel discussion.

In addition to the corporates, Convergence will also host some of the best minds from top b-schools across the country as part of "Kurukshetra – The Battle Ground", a National Level Operations competition. 417 teams from top b-schools participated in the preliminary round - online quiz and top 8 teams would continue the battle on SIBM Bengaluru campus on 6th and 7th Sept, 2013.
