Positive discrimination is the selection of a candidate for a position on the grounds of race, sex or colour rather than merit alone. There are many ways this can be implemented. Some US police forces score all applicants and select between candidates of equal ability based on race.
Should positive discrimination be promoted?
 
Women require positive discirmination because in the past they were considered slaves in a patriarchal society. Presently, they are still dominated by men in a lot of social enviroments: family, work, on the street, and many others enviroments. For this reason women should have more benefits in society as an attempt to even out their disadvantaged status.
 
No one can correct past social injustices. In fact since Black Women receive more points than Black Men it encourages Black Men to regain that phenomena Frederick Douglas called a Slave Mentality. It has kept black men down and turned black areas from a place with the strongest families in the nation in the 1950s to the matriarchies of today. A different approach is needed. People need to stop rehashing the past and get on with solving present problems.
 
well its a real debatable issue and lot of considerations has to be made before even thinking it to implement in country like india.
 
should not be implemented!!!everyone should be given equal chance and selection should be purly on the basis of skills abilities and knowledge...
