Interplay of toil and passion, brilliance and madness, love and obsession, ecstasy and insomnia, sheer joy and pain, is what it takes to create the magic called Neev. Neev 2011, is a fest of charisma, a fest that stands tall and mighty. It is an odyssey, which began humbly in July 2011, when the first seeds were being sown. There was no stopping since then. Ideas were being born, designs were being made, support and guidance was being asked for and brains kept racking to seek out solutions to complicated problems.

It’s time now, for the curtains to draw and for the greatest of them all, to step out into the limelight. Neev’11 with its grandeur, is all set to enthral you for three days, December 9th, 10th and 11th. Come, be a part of this Nirvana that will rock the business world. Be a witness to the difference that young powerful minds can make. Stupefied, is what you will be, when perspectives of the next generation business leaders challenge your thoughts and opinions. Well, does this sound too serious for you? Neev’11 will disappoint no one. Don’t miss the royal chance to spend the most memorable evenings with stars and celebrities. Watch out for all the fun.

NEEV, the annual B-school event of Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), is hosted on the Symbiosis InfoTech Campus, Hinjewadi, over a span of three days in December. It has grown to be a revered platform of participation for students from elite B-schools of India like the IIMs, XLRI, TISS, MDI, SP Jain, JBIMS, NMIMS, NITIE, FMS, IIFT and many others. Business games and case studies revolve around the most contemporary issues plaguing the business world, be it in Finance, Marketing Operations or HR. Neev’11 promises to get bigger and better as it joins hands with the GMR group as its Title Sponsor and Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) and Midas Golden Distilleries Pvt. Ltd. as the co-sponsors. A definitive theme characterizes Neev every year. This year, the theme is “The Fourth Quadrant”. It is representative of the journey of one small idea travelling through an ocean of knowledge and uncertainties, to eventually manifest itself into something that is beautifully unheard of. The opening ceremony of Neev is graced by a key note address by eminent personalities from the industry followed by words of encouragement by the institute Director Mr. K.S.Subramanian. The guest of honour for Neev 2010 was Mr. R. Gopalakrishnan, MD of Tata Technologies. This year, we shall have with us Mr. Ravi Pisharody, President, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit of Tata Motors, to grace the occasion. We shall also be highly privileged to have amongst us the founder director and Chancellor of Symbiosis, Dr. S.B.Majumdar, Mr. A.S.K.Reddy , Chief, Human Resource Officer, Airports of the GMR Group and Mr.U.T. Neev is just as colourful as an idea can be. It has a balanced mix of both formal corporate interactions in the form of business case study presentations as well as informal events like the Treasure Hunt, Paintball, Zorbing, Rappling, Dance and Drum workshops, Battle of the Bands, Celebrity Performances and many more. Neev’11 has something in store for the undergraduate students too. There’s Jive Wars’[/i] (choreography competition), Junkyard Groove (make the best of the waste) or Mock the Rock (enacting the rock stars). What sets apart Neev, from all other B-School fests is the amazing prize money and gift hampers involved. Neev lets you express yourself in as many ways you can. It’s mad! It’s fun! However, that’s just not the end. The most awaited informal events in Neev’11 would be the performance of Hard Kaur (aka Hard Core)[/i], singer Kshitij Tarey of “Tosey Naina Laage Piya Saawre”, “Ae Khuda”( from Murder 2 fame) and DJ Sa on the evening of 9th December. On the 10th of December, the crowd of SIC, Hinjewadi would dance to the beats of just one man, a man who knows beats the best, Sivamani. NEEV, in the past years, has hosted performances of KK, Euphoria, Mother Jane and Parikrama.

When it comes to the formal events, the biggest draw would be NEEV’s flagship event called “Augustus”, the Hunt for the Best Student Manager. It carries with it prize money of 2 lakhs. Corporate interaction would also take place in the form of Corporate Playoffs (quizzes and debates for the corporate). There would also be a Celebrity Talk Show “Atlantis Diary” with Mr. Eric Vas (President, Retail Finance at Bajaj Auto Limited), Tehseen Poonawalla (entrepreneur, columnist and torch bearer for young India) and Papa CJ (the eminent stand-up comedian). No doubt everybody would be looking forward to a new take on the theme. This would add to the list of the eminent speakers that we’ve already had in the past, namely, Harsha Bhogle, Rajiv Bajaj, Chavi Rajavat and Vikram Sathaye.

NEEV 2011 would finally draw to a close with an exhilarating “Augustus” finale on the 11th of December. The closing ceremony would also witness the presence of eminent panellists for the “Augustus” jury. NEEV, undoubtedly, serves as a breeding ground for a plethora of both business and cultural beginnings and where a lot of corporate leaders seek to spot new talent while still young.
