These tests can be carried out by any staff member that is competent and has enough knowledge and who knows how to work these machines and understand and interpret the data that they give you.

For these tests you can get an outside business to come in and do that for you, which you will have to pay them for every time you get them to come in, or you can send a member of your staff on a PASS electrical training course.
Sending staff on these courses can help you to save money on the cost of PAT testing because then all you will have to pay for is the training that they need and keeping it up to date, as well as the equipment rather than getting someone in to do it for you.
You do not have to test all of your appliances at the same time frame. How often you decide to test a particular item can depend on how much risk you think it poses to users. For example, you may not wish to test a computer as often as you might test tools that you use for construction work. However, if you do not think that your items need testing annually then this could also save you money but do not compromise safety
Other ways that you could save money on testing are by getting rid of any electrical items that you no longer use so that you do not get it tested.
