Sasken Q1 profit down 31 pc

BANGALORE: Sasken Communication Technologies Limited has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 6.39 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, a fall of 31 per cent compared to the same period last fiscal.

However, the company posted a 41 per cent rise in consolidated revenues during the quarter at Rs 128.37 crore.

The company added eight new customers during the quarter.

A total of 199 employees were added this quarter taking the total staff strength to 3,513 as on June 30, 2007.

Commenting on the performance, Sasken Chairman and CEO Rajiv Mody said: "We recorded a two per cent growth in business in dollar terms. We signed up some key Tier 1 customers for our services business. The rupee appreciation along with wage hikes, have meant that our services EBITDA is at 12.4 per cent for the quarter".
