EPC News: 31st July,2013: India, Maharashtra,Mumbai: Owing to the fall in coal prices, Reliance Power recorded a flat performance in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter of the current fiscal. The current index stands at Rs240 crore; however the total income fell to Rs1,206 crore against the Rs1,252 crore marked in the same period a year ago.
Commenting on the company Q1 performance, JP Chalasani, CEO, RPower said, “The drop in domestic and international coal prices might have led to the fall in the total income. As per the cost pass-through model, the decline in the coal price ultimately affects the topline indices.”
The company however remained balanced in maintaining its performance at Rosa Power Planti n Uttar Pradesh with its 1,200 MW capacity operating at 100% availability and 72% plant load factor. Besides, RPower is also constructing a 100 MW solar power project at Dhursar, which will be commissioned within this year.
