RISCON – IMT Annual Risk Conclave

RISCON ’11, to be held on 12 and 13 November, 2011 is organized by FinNiche, IMT Ghaziabad’sFinance Club. A mammoth affair, RISCON ’11 is whipping up tremendous interest thanks to the relevance it holds for today’s investor.

Already in progress, Shreyas Nidhi RISCON ‘11’s inter-institute student event – is a competition based on mutual funds – its risks and rewards. The two-round competition drew enthusiastic participation from budding financial wizards studying in B Schools across the country.

Shreyas Nidhi, Round One: Road to Finals was conducted online with teams participating in a finance related quiz. The questions were based on the event theme – Risk Management – and began at 22.00 hours sharp on 3 November, 2011.

Shreyas Nidhi, Round Two: Face Off. The date: 13 November, 2011. Those who made it through Round One – Road to Finals, are shortlisted and invited to the finals which will be held at the IMT Ghaziabad campus. The teams will need to be physically present (and mentally too!). They will be given a case study. Based on this, and only this, they will need to make an analysis which they will present to an esteemed jury.

RISCON ’11 – the Conclave – Day 1(12 November, 2011): Investments mean risks. The bigger the returns, the higher the risks. These risks and returns will be discussed threadbare by professionals at the conclave.

On Day 1, the Conclave will have industry authorities sharing their expert views on the issues that plague the world of finance. They will discuss effective means of assessing and mitigating investment associated risks.

Three Technical Sessions have eminent financial experts like Mr. Ajay Sahai – Federation of Exports India Ltd, Mr. Rajeshwar Rao – Chief GM, RBI and Mr. Malik – Director, RBI addressing the gathering.

A Panel Discussion ends the day. The subject is the Impact of Euro Debt Crisis on the Global Economy. It has big names from the financial world discussing this pertinent and very engrossing subject. The panel includes Mr. Sunil Nair – Deputy GM, RBI, Mr. C. M. Khurana, GM, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Mr. B. S. Ratnakar, GM, Central Bank of India, Mr. Giridharan – Director, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Mr. Vishesh Srivastava – Assistant GM, Punjab National Bank, Mr. Ramit – GM, IBM, Mr. Gopal Mondal – Director – F&A, Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd, Mr. Jai Shankar – GM India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd and Mr. Jagannadham – VP, SMC.

Day 2 (13 November, 2011): Shreyas Nidhi Face Off – inter-institutional case study presentations, and final rounds. Adrenaline will flow. The teams, winners or losers, will leave with lessons learnt.

With each year, IMT Ghaziabad’s FinNiche evolves as it concentrates on current global and national financial developments and its implications on investments and related risks. In tune with this theme, RISCON ’11 will focus on the risks involved in many of today’s financial issues such as the Euro Zone Debt Crisis and Effects of RBI’s Monetary Policy to Tackle Inflation.
