Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) in simple words is study of excellence. NLP is a popular form of applied psychology that has some serious scientific backing for basic concepts. NLP is also defined by some as science and art of creating change. It is simple and with its vast application field you are bound to find different people define it differently. Technically N, L and P in NLP means,N (Neuro) – Brain and nervous system, L (Linguistic) – Language skills, P (Programming) – The unconscious programs that are run by us in our mind

? Neurolinguistic programming (NLP)

is a technique that shows people how to change or "reprogram" their thoughts, feelings, and actions by simple mental exercises.

?

In the areas of medicine and health care, NLP can help people discover the unconscious negative thought patterns they have about their illnesses and help them to change their mental and emotional responses so that they reinforce the positive, healing process.

Some people amble through life without any specific purpose; they take life as it comes and don’t feel the need to set specific targets or goals. For most people, goal setting is a way to measure achievement in life and the ‘live-life-as-it-comes’ approach does not work very well for them. If you feel like your life is going nowhere, setting goals can help you to give your life a sense of purpose and direction.

?

Choice: goals narrow attention and direct efforts to goal-relevant
activities, and away from perceived undesirable and goal-irrelevant actions.

Effort:goals can lead to more effort; for example, if one typically produces 4 widgets an hour, and has the goal of producing 6, one may work more intensely towards the goal than one would otherwise. ? Persistence: Someone becomes more prone to work through setbacks if pursuing a goal.
? ?

Cognition: Goals can lead individuals to develop and change their behavior.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is also defined as a process driven outcome oriented psychology which deals with the how of any given situation and the why (outcome) and is not concerned so much with the what (content) and the why (excuses for not doing anything) the last two having no bearing on the problem.

While the original goals of neuro-linguistic programming were therapeutic, the patterns have also been adapted for use outside psychotherapy for interpersonal communications and persuasion including business communication, management training, sales, sports, and interpersonal influence, used for coaching, team building, public speaking, negotiation, and communication. The UK Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development includes a number of NLP courses including an application of NLP to coaching in its 2010 training programme. A range of books have been published related to the application of NLP to coaching.

NLP It works to make your life easier and more satisfying. It works to: 1) Give you more control of your life (and more personal freedom) 2) Because it gives you more choices and 3) Greater influence and satisfaction 4) Because you have clearer communication.

NLP provides a strong set of tools and skills to help you naturally and gracefully make lasting changes in specific ways: Find and remove hidden or unconscious "road blocks" to your personal and professional goals. Make changes in your habits a "piece of cake" instead of a struggle. Easily notice, understand, and respond to what motivates other people. Create a "magnetic" field in which people are drawn to you and your ideas. Speed up and improve the quality of your decision-making. Become irresistibly persuasive – you'll notice this especially with people who have been difficult in the past. Clearly identify what you really want, versus what you say you want, or what someone else taught you to want. Coach and support yourself and others to do all of this in their lives.
