LOCATION:
The Maharashtrian district of Kolhapur is the 3rd most developed city after Mumbai and Pune and the fastest developing city in the state of Maharashtra. In the last 8 yrs, an array of industries and production houses have set up base in Kolhapur, undertaking manufacturing activities spread across the fields of textiles, automobiles, machine parts, utilities.etc this has resulted in the education and specialization of the local workforce. The improvement in their standard of living and enhanced financial position has prompted the need for a variety of consumer products and services and more importantly- Quality education. Moreover, the city is located at roughly about 500-600kms from Mumbai and even lesser for Pune so it would promote the influx of eligible students from these major cities. Also, the cleaner air and greenery engulfing the city would also be an encouraging factor as it facilitates a healthy environment ideal for study. Most essentially, on the legal front, the availability of government subsidies, cheaper land as well as labor for construction of the buildings and facilities for the university has prompted us to select Kolhapur as our location.
HEALTH CARE:
The IIE Institute of Health Sciences (IIEIHS) is an in-house Health Care Centre exclusive to the staff & students of the various institutes of IIE. IIEIHS has a team of specialist doctors who conduct the annual health check up. Each student is insured under the Mediclaim & Road Traffic Accident Policy. IIEIHS also provides an in-house modern state-of-the-art health club & fitness centre with a view to facilitate a holistic development of mind & body. Integrated Institute Management System: IIE has deployed an integrated Institute Management System designed to track and manage the day-to-day activities of the University. It is a complete automated administration solution designed to enhance the productivity of staff through automated and integrated processes. This system acts as an Online Transaction Processing system able to handle large volumes of data as well as a Management Information System that provides the much-needed management reporting. The system covers modules such as student and registration, employee/faculty details, attendance recording and reporting, time table/schedules, examination and results, library management, integrated accounts/inventory, payroll, purchase and fixed assets. The most significant benefit of this system has been the creation of a central repository of data on students, faculty, staff, programs and courses which can be seen by those who have the access rights.
EQUIPMENTS:
The Audio Interactive Language Lab: IIE has pioneered the initiative of scientifically assisting students in preparing for Group Discussions or Job Interviews by developing an Audio Interactive Language Lab on the campus. This move is mainly directed towards making the students display the right internal personality driven message to their recruiters during a corporate placement, group discussions or interviews that are lining-up in the campus. This is how the system functions: The teacher records and makes a master lesson with as many copies possible. The student does all his work on this prerecorded tape copy. On playing back, the student gets the teacher's voice followed by his own, giving him an instant comparison of his performance with the model. There are separate audio consoles in which clusters of students are seated in demarcated boxes to conduct the practice sessions. So an original tape with the teacher's voice, the copies with the student's voice and the headphones for comparison arrive as the obvious audio instruments to learn the dictums in communication like a song.
MINI MARKETS:
A shopping complex consisting of a stationary, general store, unisex parlor, laundry and a Computer Accessory Shop will be available for students on campus.
ACADEMIC RESOURCES:
Case study Approach: The IIE has been actively engaging industry and academia to conduct case study based courses. A large number of areas covering the areas of finance, marketing, Human Resources and Behavioral Sciences, Operations and Decision sciences are conducted using the same.
Mentorship: A mentorship programme has been put in place to ensure outstation students are at ease in matters relating to their lives at the School. A group of students is put under a faculty who acts as his mentor. A Buddy Concept is another way to make the students at home. A final year student is attached to a freshman to interact, advise and enlighten him with various procedures of the university. Corporate Projects:
As the campus is in the heart of the financial capital of the country - Mumbai, for students it is an ideal opportunity to learn and interact through corporate projects. The IIPC cell, with its objective to promote industry-academia linkage places emphasis on learning by applying theoretical concepts learned in the classroom on live Industry projects. These corporate projects vary from 1-3 months. Workshops and Seminars: Workshops and Seminars aimed at equipping the students with the right skillsets to face industry complexities with confidence are conducted by eminent personalities from the industry on array of issues critical to creating a holistic perspective for the student. Guest Lectures: Academic learning is reinforced with industry leaders visiting the campus to address key issues prevalent in the corporate world and insights on key features. Paragana: Held in the month of November, Paragana - The annual management festival of IIE is the opportunity when corporate heavy-weights descend upon the campus to ideate, exchange and enlighten views on a theme of national and international importance. In 2007, the theme was Iceberg India: Discoveries beneath the surface, attended by luminaries of the corporate world. The event showcases the managerial talent of the entire student community which takes the onus of organizing the event. SPSS Training/ Advanced MS Excel: Regular sessions are conducted to equip students with tools to aid their learning in the form of tutorials for specific marketing finance and statistical tools like SPSS, Advanced MS – Excel, IRS, Six-Sigma Certifications etc. Besides this, the School lays emphasis on Corporate / simulation games / contests / events to stimulate a dynamic learning environment.

The Centre thus provides preventive, promotive as well as curative health care services with a view to ensure Positive Health in all members of the IIE Family.
CAFETRIA:
An all day cafeteria which provides A wide variety of snacks, confectionary items and beverages for students, ensuring refreshments for busy minds.
