What our government needs today

Indian govt. has many problems these days. Since independence the image of Indian govt. in public mind is not good. The public thinks that Indian govt. means red tappism, bureaucracy, wastage of public money etc.
Due to this image the govt. lacks faith of public. Besides the govt. itself doesn’t show anything that can improve this image.

In order to improve the image, the govt. today needs a sound management approach. The govt. has many wings. The two most important wings are ministry of finance and the ministry of human resource development. Both of the wings are mismanaged today. Due to mismanagement of HRD ministry, our country lacks potential human resource. Talented, skilled workers leave this country and visit our rival countries. We lack skilled workers and the development process of our country has stopped.

Another mismanaged wing is ministry of finance. Due to mismanagement our country is in the debt trap. After the death of Rajiv Gandhi our foreign exchange reserve had been deteriorated by our so called national leaders. Ministry of finance also overlooked it. Thus we have to borrow from the foreign countries and fell in their debt trap.

So what our govt. needs today is a sound management in these two wings. Our HRD ministry should develop plan in order to retain skilled worker within the country as much as possible. In order to achieve this goal, HRD should work in coordination with the ministry of mass comm. and public relation. Some of the useful tips that could help it achieve this goal:

 Try to construct a negative image of foreign countries. Try to demonize them while develop a positive image of India in people’s mind. This could be done with the help of media.

 Invite foreign universities in India to open their branch here, so that we can get foreign degree from home. But don’t let them borrow student to their country.

 Motivate skilled people with reward. This will encourage others to perform well.

 Employ latest human resource management tools to achieve the objective. Also use brainstorming process to generate creative ideas to manage the skilled resource.

The ministry of finance is also in need of proper management to get rid of debts. It should employ skilled worker to generate creative ideas on how to achieve the objective.

The wings of the govt. lack coordination among them. That’s why the govt. failed to achieve its objective.

My proposal is that the govt. should be viewed as one big company whose main business is to run our country.
It is a non profit organization. The wings of the govt., the ministries are different departments of this company. The CEO of this company is the prime minister and the chairman is the president. The cabinet meeting is the board meeting. Now this company should be properly managed in order to make India really great.
