Redundancy

You are an manager in a large organisation. Your company is going through hard times and so there is a possibility of laying off some employees and shutting down some plants. In the meantime, politicians are busy assuring citizens that the government will not allow any job losses since this will mean more suffering for people. On one hand, the law allows you to proceed by simply notifying government, a notice to which they have no room to dissagree. How would proceed to carry out redundacies with eminent political pressure not to do so?

The companies should not lay off employees, rather it should have a cut in their salaries or the extra benefits that they provide to their employees. That way they wont lose their experienced manpower as well as survive through recession times.
