The application of business research provides a critical link between theory and practice. As Dean Glenn Hubbard recently told faculty members at Columbia Business School, over the coming year the world’s financial turmoil will present an opportunity for research and innovation. He challenged the faculty members to frame their research in these terms:
1. How can we address problems and opportunities posed by globalization?
2. How can we design the most efficient provision of financial services (in matching savers and borrowers, and providing risk-sharing, liquidity, and information services)?
3. How should we conceptualize strategy and high-level business decision-making?
What areas of research would you like to see developed this year? How will you frame your organization’s thinking and goals in 2009? 2. How can we design the most efficient provision of financial services (in matching savers and borrowers, and providing risk-sharing, liquidity, and information services)?
3. How should we conceptualize strategy and high-level business decision-making?
We would love to hear your thoughts. Please leave your comments.
