I am highly inspired on being given an opportunity to make a brief project report on Working Capital- A Case Study on DPL. Coming here at DPL and completing my winter training for my BBA was indeed a great and wonderful experience. I want to convey my sense of gratitude to all, without whose help this Project would have been a difficult task for me to complete .Everybody helped me, in spite of their busy schedule, to finish my project in due time. I am very thankful to the competent authority who have helped me and provided me all the necessary data to prepare my project report successfully. I am also thankful to my project coordinator Respected Sir Mr. Sujit Chakraborty, & Mr. Anup Ghosal (Training Officer/DPL) who provided me the scopes to know, understand and learn things, which shall remain engraved in my memory and help me in my future throughout my carreer.
PREFACE
The preparation of this project topic, entitled as, “Working capital management based on the financial statement of DPL” has been made after an extensive study analyzing the various financial aspects of DPL.
DPL, a public sector enterprise of West Bengal Govt. can go for diversification strategy enabling itself to grow and to expand its business. D.P.L. can adopt the strategy for joint venture so as to reduce the risk and enhance its strength.
The study has specially been focused upon the financial position of DPL for the financial year 2009-10. Endeavours have been made to present the ideas in a simplistic manner.
Finally this being an independent study, possibilities of some mistakes creeping in this presentation may not be ruled out. However to make it a success, all sorts of possible measures have been adopted.

EXECUTIVE SUMMERY PURPOSE
I am a student of Institute of computer and Information Sciences (ICIS College), under Burdwan University, and belong to BBA-(H) (Finance) stream. As per the requirement of BBA course, I have been instructed by our study center authorities to receive training and prepare project report, the same being a very relevant part of the BBA course.
As above, I have selected the topic on “Working Capital based on the financial statement of the DPL”. The purpose of my study is to acquire knowledge on about The Daily Workings of an organization based on the study. and their after to furnish the project report
My industrial training at the Durgapur Project Ltd. Start on 11/01/2011 and completed on 10/02/2011. During the training the external guide [Mr. Sagar Chattarjee, Sr. Manager Finance] under whom I was placed was very co-operative he enlightened me in various subjects in the organization with major emphasis Working capital of DPL. I have prompted my self for going through the policies, procedure, strategies, of Durgapur Project Ltd, of my study topic and also the special features and relevant aspects of the topic as practical in Durgapur Project Ltd.
I have prepared the project report based on my above study and available literature etc.
