Press Note : IIMA Run for A Cause
Flagged off by Prof. G. Raghuram, the "IIMA Run for a Cause" marked the commencement of the 3rd day of the three-day knowledge event "ConneXions 2014" hosted by PGPX students.
Overwhelming participation by 200 runners from across the country along with few foreign nationals including a Kenyan runner from Pune, a Dutch and a Japanese National made it a huge success! About 100 of the participants from the IIMA fraternity also made up the sizeable number on the streets of Ahmedabad from IIMA New Campus to Panjarapol.
The 10Km and 5Km Run were organised to generate funds for the philanthropic activity of IIMA - "Prayaas" an IIMA initiative to help underprivileged children from around IIMA - Vastrapur area get an opportunity to learn in the schools nearby and lead a better life.
The winners of the run were felicitated by Mr. Mujumdar (Deputy general Manager State Bank of India) who were the official sponsors of the event. Cheque for "Prayaas" was also handed over by him to the Student body of IIM Ahmedabad.
Feedback from participants highlighted the need of "Swatch Bharat" and cleanliness as the step forward towards building world-class cities and getting India on the Global Map.
