Salman Rushdie claimed that pornography is a direct representation of culture and the development of a civilization, don't you think the logic is some how pretty valid just think of India.
The time when India was going through its golden age in the Vedic and post vedic periods, at that time India was flourishing in every aspects i.e. trade, science and development,art etc. at that time Indian culture was so open towards pornography that in some schools of thought sex was connected with divine forces.
It was the same period only when khajuraho temple was constructed but then with time the Indian civilization started retarding, all our developments and achievements got backfired, the degree of freedom enjoyed by the female of our society was cut down and at same time rigid rules were imposed to the society.
sex and pornography became a taboo or more over a kind of sin, now again you see the society has started accepting pornography as a part of culture..
