Hello everyone!

what is the purpose of having plastic notes in india?

can it solve big problem of black money in india. I want u all to give ur view if plastic notes for 500 Rs is converted to plastic note

Dont think it will solve black money. But it has benefits like

1. Polymer/Plastic Banknote has life span of 5 years but paper notes have only one year.
2. It will be cleaner than paper notes.
3. It cant be easily imitated.

The polymer notes were first introduced in Australia to safeguard against counterfeiting of currency.

Besides Australia, other countries which have introduced plastic notes include New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Bermuda, Brunei and Vietnam.

I think the most obvious benefit from the plastic notes is its long life and capable of long lasting a few decades. We will not worry about our notes to get wet in rain which is generally happens today. But it may be very expensive to print the plastic notes.
