Overwhelming national response kicks off INSIGHT 2013 - IIMA's annual marketing conclave![/b]
Ahmedabad, September 17th: The run-up to INSIGHT 2013 - IIM Ahmedabad's annual marketing festival, has seen a huge excitement among B-School students all over the country. In its 26th consecutive running year, IIM-A's oldest festival is set to be bigger and better this year with an overwhelming response received from applicants for its workshops already. Insight is scheduled to be held on the 28th-29th September 2013 and will host multiple guest lectures by eminent speakers, marketing competitions, marketing research projects, marketing workshops and "The Great Ahmedabad Mela", all under the banner of "Challenging Conventions", the festival's theme for this year.[/b]
INSIGHT has introduced a new structure for workshops starting this year where the students have the opportunity to register for all the workshops together instead of individual ones in a piecemeal fashion. This format has been adopted to maximize holistic learning experience of students across different aspects of marketing as well as to build a peer group of “learning enthusiasts” who live and learn together during the course of the two days of the festival. Students have responded warmly to the new structure. The seats for the workshops have already been sold out and registrations had to be closed as early as 7th September, less than a week after the application window was opened.[/b]
According to the Event Secretary of INSIGHT 2013 Sufal Roongta, applications have been received from various institutions from Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Mohali, Hyderabad and Coimbatore, besides Ahmedabad and the rest of Gujarat.[/b]
The students who have registered for marketing workshops in INSIGHT 2013 would be taking part in an intensive immersion programme over the course of two days. Both visitors and IIM A students would participate in the workshops on market research, advertising and branding, scheduled to be conducted by well established firms such as AC Nielsen and Lowe Lintas.[/b]
Apart from workshops, INSIGHT also has launched 7 major marketing competitions across the country. Like the workshops, the response to the competitions has been phenomenal. The stupendous participation in the preliminary rounds of various competitions has helped the festival achieve a truly national flavor. Music2Go, the online marketing simulation event received a participation of more than 1500 students from various prestigious B-schools such as IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and FMS. Similarly, the second edition of Wizards of Barter, the marketing strategy competition, has also received more than a 1000 applicants. Apart from these two competitions, there are five other major marketing competitions scheduled in INSIGHT this year. If the quality and quantity of participation in the preliminary rounds of these contests is any indication, the final rounds are expected to be cracker of a contest.[/b]
