Open your ears to music

“There’s music in the sighing of a reed;

There is music in the gushing of a rill;

There is music in all things if men had ears;

The earth is but an echo of the spheres.

It has been rightly said that music is universal language of human kind. Music is nothing but a divine art in which thoughts, emotions, joys, sorrows, hope and despair all find expression. After silence, what comes nearest to expression the inexpressible is Music. Music and life are parallel mirrors, which reflect each other. Music is an art that appeals to the conscious mind but leaves an impact on subconscious mind as well. Music adds zest, and is in a way the fabric of our lives. Every hour has its own note, every season its own song and every age its own tune. For a music devotee, music is present everywhere- in nature, in paintings, in every mode and form of life. In a way, it is an eternal source of enjoyment.

It was this magic of music Beethoven, Mozart, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Gershwin, A.R Rehman, etc legends. Music does not care for man made boundaries and is free from all shackles. As the words of Beethoven say, “ Music should strike fire from the heart of a man, and bring tears from the eyes of a woman,” Isn’t it amazing to see that how a piece of music is able to bring tears in the eye or is able to make the listener laugh though he has no personal relation with the person. Such is the power of music. When engrossed in musical offerings to God; one realizes that there is no separation between the singer and the song, the conviction and emotion. In music lie the deepest secrets from a life fully in the process of being lived. Whether music sways gently or rocks steadily, it always pulls apart at the seams, allowing the listener to be surrounded with solace and inspiration.
