O.P. Jindal Engineering & Management Scholarships (OPJEMS) 2015
6th January,2016 : A grand felicitation ceremony to recognize and award the meritorious scholars, who won the country's prestigious O.P. Jindal Engineering & Management Scholarships (OPJEMS) 2015, was organised here in New Delhi on Tuesday at India Habitat Centre. 100 meritorious students from across India's 40 prestigious Engineering and Management institutes gathered to receive their share of glory. The students were honoured with the scholarship medal and cheque which marks the recognition of their hard work and success.
To honour the students, Mr. Rattan Jindal - Chairman and Managing Director, Jindal Stainless Limited and Mr. Abhyuday Jindal - Vice Chairman, Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Ltd, felicitated student by awarding them the medals and scholarship cheque.
Since inception, OPJEMS aims to identify and recognize meritorious Graduate and Post Graduate students who emulate Shri O.P Jindal's vision & values and have the potential to become leaders in entrepreneurial and innovation excellence. Everyear the program identifies around 100 deserving students from 40 prestigious institutes across the country and award scholarships of worth Rs 1 Crs.
OPJEMS 2015 was launched on 7th August 2015, which coincides with the Birthday of Shri O.P Jindal and the final results of the scholarship were announced in the first week of November'15. The eligible students for the scholarship test were churned out after two rounds of tests. First round comprised of an online test and then followed by interview round to select the top 100 students.
Gracing the occasion, Mr. Rattan Jindal said, "I believe that education is a major catalyst to empower youths. Our young countrymen can better invent than judge and can drive life changing transitions thus we must encourage them to direct their power towards good end."
Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Amitabh Akhauri, Vice President - HR, Jindal Stainless Limited who said, "OPJEMS programme is embedded with the philosophy of our group founder, Shri O.P Jindal whose passion and ability to foresee India as a progressive Industrialised nation laid the foundation for one of India's largest business conglomerates".
The award ceremony marks a formal end to OPJEMS 2015 scholarship programme.
