Statistics show that fatal rail accidents have peaked in the month of February. Prior to February 14, there had already been 15 deaths on February 9 and 19 on February 4.

One of the major reasons for rising number of accidents is hooliganism inside crowded trains...

The accidents occurring on railway tracks are a country-wide concern. Adding to this worry is the fact that such incidents, instead of registering a decline, are on the rise. Although flyovers are being built to avert road accidents and railway gates are being constructed at railway crossings, the task at hand is manifold. The rate of accidents on unmanned railway crossings is the largest with incidents of dozens losing their lives while crossing a railway track being a common case. Many a times, group of people crossing a track in a trolley, bus or car have lost their lives when all of a sudden a fast moving train hits them at the last minute of their crossing the track.
