Greetings,

It is hard to believe that Labor Day is just around the corner and we have officially completed Pre-Term. In the few weeks since they first arrived on campus, the Class of 2014 has proved to be a stellar group. I recently had the pleasure of welcoming all 837 of them during our MBA Convocation. In the audience there were former White House staffers, professional athletes, and Bollywood movie stars alongside military members, engineers, entrepreneurs, bankers, and teachers - to name a few. For the fourth year in a row, more than 40 percent of our incoming class is made up of women - that's more women than in the entire student body at some entire business schools. And while we are yet to have our first student from Antartica, the class of 2014 hails from over 70 countries represented across six continents and 60 percent speak a language other than English. The richness of their backgrounds (274 undergraduate institutions represented) as well as their experiences (nearly 70 have already founded or co-founded their own businesses prior to Wharton!) will surely provide for a lively and engaging classroom environment.

A number of students in the Class of 2014 are currently blogging about their new life in Philadelphia on our Student Diarist page. I encourage you to follow their journeys and learn more about the Wharton experience firsthand.

Sincerely,
