Noida Authority allots Rs2,000 cr for Metro extension

New Delhi: After gaining the approval for two proposed routes of the Metro project in Noida from the Uttar Pradesh government, the Noida Authority has sanctioned RS2,000 crore for the extension projects. The Authority had attained clearance from the state government for 3.9 km route between Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden and for the 6.7km network on City Center-Sector 62 link.

However, the proposal for implementing the two routes is awaiting the Centre’s approval. The proposed project involves six stations at Sectors 34, 52, 59, 61, 62 and Electronic City.

Work on the extension of the Metro from Botanical Garden to Kalindi Kunj is scheduled to be completed by 2016 and construction of the City Center to Sector 62 link is expected by 2017.
