Sourav Ganguly may have announced his retirement after the ongoing home series against Australia, but he looks hungry for more in this series
MOHALI: Following are excerpts from a media interaction:
Are you having a change of mind after slamming this century? What will you do if you are asked to prolong your career?
The time has come to go. It is a personal decision. I will cross the bridge when it comes, but as of now, I have made up my mind.
How did you prepare for this series?
I prepared the same way as I have done all these years, when I was playing regularly in both forms of the game. That is the way I approach games to be successful. I try to enjoy every single day because every day could possibly be my last. I just try to do my best.
How was it to get a ton in Mohali?
I have played before in Mohali and it has been a lucky ground for me. I have done well here before too.
How do you rate Amit Mishra, who has started off well in this match?
He has done very well. But it is about doing it day in and day out for a number of years like Kumble and Harbhajan. He has still not got much help from the pitch and I am sure he will prove handy later in the match. He has already put us in a strong position and with the all-rounders coming in, it gives us that much more chance.
Which form of cricket do you cherish most?
One is always remembered for what he has done in Test cricket. Gavaskar, Ponting, Sachin, Lara, Waugh and the lot are remembered because they did well in Tests. It is first Test cricket, then one-day cricket and only then T20 cricket.
