NMDC to set up slurry pipeline at Nagarnar steel plant

NMDC plans to set up a 139 km slurry pipeline at Nagarnar steel plant in Chhattisgarh.

The Rs 800 crore pipeline project will carry iron ore from Bailadila mines to its proposed three million tonne per annum steel plant at Nagarnar.

The civil work is expected to start after the necessary clearances and the project is likely to be completed before December 2016.

The slurry pipeline will also be used to transport iron ore fines from NMDC’s Bailadila mine in Chhattisgarh to Vizag in Andhra Pradesh, where RINL has its lone steel-making facility.
