The Sensex closed at 16,191 down 136 points after making an intra-day low of 16,074. The Nifty shut at 4,844 down 43 points after making a low of 4,805. Among the broader indices - the BSE Midcap Index was down 1.4% and Smallcap down 1.6%. The market breadth remained weak and the markets reported total turnover of Rs 1,08,459 cr. For the week SENSEX was up 0.24% and NIFTY up 0.37%.
