The Sensex ended up by 244 points at 17,227 near its day’s high of 17,237. The Nifty finished at 5,159 up by 90 points after hitting an intra-day low of 5,058. Huge Buying was seen in metals, reality, banking and telecom stocks. The small cap and midcap indexes were up by 1.38% and 1.31% respectively. The breadth remained positive and total turnover recorded for the day was at Rs 89,715 cr.
