Indian markets ended flat as investors remained cautious ahead of tomorrow’s Infosys result. The Sensex ended at 16,843 up 37 points after trading between 16,998 - 16,775. The Nifty ended at 5,002, up 16 points after trading volatile in the range of 5,043 – 4,971. The broader BSE-500 index edged 0.5 % higher while the midcap index gained 0.8 %. Buying was seen in FMCG, metal, banking, power, select pharma, auto and oil & gas stocks. The market breadth was mixed. The Oct Nifty future ended with 16 point discount.
