The consolidation in the market continued for the second day and ended with
modest gains. All major sectoral indices ended on a very flat note. The Sensex
closed at 17,970 up 29 points after trading in the range of 18047-17,878. Nifty shut at 5,374 up 8 point after trading in the range of 5,399- 5,345. The Small cap and Mid-cap indices were up by 0.72% and 0.52% respectively. The breadth of the market was very strong and the turnover was recorded at Rs 84,861Cr. The April nifty future ended with a 6 point premium.
