The Sensex closed at 17,000 up 227 points while Nifty shut at 5,088 up 71 point after trading in the range of 5,093 - 5,015 . The Small cap and Mid cap indices were also up by 1.29% and 1.58% respectively. The breadth continued to remain positive and the markets turnover recorded at Rs 87,875 Cr.
