The Sensex closed at 16,429 up 175 points after trading in the range of 16,669 – 16,249. While the Nifty shut at 4,922 up 63 point after trading in the range of 4,992 - 4,858. Buying was seen in Banking, Metal, Auto and Pharma sector while Reality and Technology counters ended relatively flat. The Small cap and Mid cap indices were also up by 1.08% and 1.48% respectively. The breadth was positive and the markets turnover considerably increased to Rs 1,40,776 Cr as against yesterday's turnover of Rs.1,38,151 Cr.
