The Sensex slipped 103 points to end at 17,223 after hitting an early high of 17,457 and a low of 17,185 during the later part of the day. The Nifty ended 27 points lower at 5,114. The market breadth was in favour of advances and the volumes were slightly lower. Selling was seen in oil & gas, pharma and capital goods stocks while reality, auto, IT, sugar and select metal stocks witnessed buying interest. The Oct nifty future ended with 8 points discount.
