The markets ended strongly for the second consecutive day as huge buying was seen across sectors. It closed above the psychological 5000 mark for the first time in last several days. Buying was seen across all the sectors barring shares of oil & gas, select realty and capital goods companies. Auto, bank and metal were the leading sectors the respective indices gained 2.5-4.7%. The Sensex closed at 16,772.56 up 343 points or 2.09%. The Nifty shut at 5017 up 1.92% or 95 points after making a top of 5,028. The market breadth was quite strong and the markets reported total turnover of Rs 89,537 cr. The Nifty March Future was trading at 17 points premium around the closing session.
