The markets consolidated throughout the day but picked up positive momentum during the last hour of trade and ended in green. All the major sectoral indices ended on a positive note IT and Banking counters being the highest gainers. The Sensex closed at 17,955 up 46 points after trading in the range of 17980-17,892. making an intraday high of 5,401.
