The benchmark indices consolidated for the five trading sessions and ended on a negative zone. The Sensex closed at 17,928 down 27 points and the Nifty shut at 5,386 down 7 points after trading in the range of 5,408 - 5,363. FMCG, realty, auto and capital goods companies' shares witnessed selling pressure.
