Introduction:
NDTV is an acronym for the original name of the company, New Delhi Television. It is an Indian commercial broadcasting television network founded in 1988. It was founded by Prannoy Roy, an eminent journalist and current chairman and director of NDTV Group. NDTV owns three national news television channel, they are : i)NDTV 24X7(English News Channel), ii)NDTV India(Hindi News Channel), iii)NDTV Profit(Business News Channel). Apart from this NDTV also runs NDTV GoodTimes Channel, Joint Venture with Vijay Mallya's UB Group and it was launched in September 2007. In 2009, NDTV launched NDTV Hindu, English language news channel based in and serving Chennai, a joint venture with Kasturi and Sons Ltd., publishers of The Hindu newspaper. Now this channel is taken over by Dina Thanthi(Tamil Newspaper).

History Of Foundation:
NDTV company was corporated as New Delhi Television Private Limited on September 8, 1988. Subsequently the Company was converted into a Public Limited Company and it changed its name to New Delhi Television Limited and fresh certificate of incorporation was obtained on August 31, 1994. In 1988, NDTV's producers produced a news and current affairs show ‘The World This Week’ for Doordarshan. The show gained huge popularity. This made NDTV to become content provider and producer of India’s first bilingual(English-Hindi) news Channel, Star News(now ABP News) till 2003. As the agreement of NDTV with Star News expired in 2003 and it completely transformed into ABP News. Then in 2003, they launched two 24-hour news channels— NDTV 24x7 in English and NDTV India in Hindi. Later they also launched NDTV Profit, a 24-hour business news channel in 2005, which became a leading business news channel in a short period of time.

? Mr K.V.L Narayan Rao, Executive Vice Chairperson

He has been with NDTV since 1995 and has been responsible for the Human Resources, Administration and Operations of the Company. Narayan Rao started his career as a journalist with the Indian Express, before joining the Indian Revenue Service.

In 1994 he started his career with NDTV. He headed NDTV Profit from its creation and led it to become India's leading business channel. Vikram then became CEO of NDTV Networks. She was Secretary and Head of Administration, Institute of Cerebral Palsy ( IICP) from 1987 to 2002 . Mrs. Indrani Roy is Peace Works Coordinator, Seagull Foundation for the Arts from 2003. Mr Vijaya Bhaskar Menon, Non-Executive Independent Director Mr Vijaya Bhaskar Menon, now a citizen of the United States, was born in India where he received a B.A. Honours degree from the University of Delhi. He earned a Masters degree from Christ Church, Oxford University, and joined EMI Limited in London. He was appointed Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive of EMI's Indian subsidiary in 1964 and represented EMI as a Director on the Boards of several subsidiary and associated companies including Capitol Industries in the U.S.A. and Toshiba EMI Limited in Japan. Mr. Vijay Bhaskar has been president and CEO of many other companies.

Weakness: 1) Central Bureau of Investigation filed cases against NDTV managing director Prannoy Roy, former director general of Doordarshan R. Basu and five other top officials of Doordarshan for criminal conspiracy and under the Prevention of Corruption Act. 2) NDTV, through its foreign subsidiaries, is alleged to have violated Indian tax and corporate laws. NDTV's major stake holders raised funds by misdeclaration of the value of shares in NDTV. Opportunity: 1) NDTV can organize campaigns through their channels to support rural and urban cause. 2) Can launch channel solely supporting the education and learning for kids and youth. 3) Increase as many ties with other companies to support social causes.
