My Kitchen rules (mkr) is a competitive game show on the Australian television network. It’s a show were a team of two contestants had to transform a home kitchen into a restaurant with complete theme and table decorations for one night.

Initially in the first season of the show the format was that the two teams will cook a three course meal and losing side will be eliminated immediately from the competition. The current format is that the two teams will compete in an instant restaurant round and will serve a three course meal to the judging panel. The Judges had to rate the team’s meal on a scale of 1-10 and the losing team will be eliminated. In the later season’s the contestants didn’t have to cook in their own kitchens as their home’s were too small to accommodate the production. The show was an instant hit and well received by the people. The show in its first season had teams from Queensland and New South Wales and Victoria. From 2011, the teams grew as Tasmania had joined the competition. In the third season a team from New Zealand had taken part in the competition, but in the fourth season there were fifteen teams who had taken part, and in the fifth season a team was there from the Australian capital territory.

This show was adopted by a number of foreign countries like Serbia, Russia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States of America.

The first season’s winners were Veronica and Shadi Abraham, the second season’s winner’s were Sammy and Bella Jakubiak. The season three was won by Leigh Sexton and Jennifer Evans and the season’s four winner’s were Dan and Steph Mulheron.

This show was renewed for a fifth season in the series which was telecasted on 27th January, 2014.
