Urban skylines are changing in India – in cyberspace too. Internet services company Yahoo has launched a new series of networks covering urban Indian areas on the Web.
Yahoo’s new venture in India, called Our City, collects online content on the city from various sources and presents it in a dynamic manner.
“Yahoo Our City provides an interesting and dynamically updated perspective of our city as seen and experienced by us all,” Yahoo spokesperson Sai Sreekanth said.
This product has been piloted in India, spanning a vast number of cities.
Our City (in.ourcity.yahoo.com) can be used to explore and share services such as photos, videos, events, news, weather, blogs and more.
Besides Mumbai, this venture covers various other cities, including Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Nagpur, Pune and Shimla.
“User feedback has been very positive and we have got several requests for new cities to be added,” Shreekanth said
Users can participate in Our City in several ways. They can post photos, videos, posts on message boards and also write trip plans. “We will be beefing up features further,” he added.
