Mothers day: A few Restaurants we can take our Moms to
Mother's Day[/b] is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in spring. (e.g., April–May in the northern hemisphere, October in Argentina, but northern hemisphere spring, May, in Australia). It complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Father's Day and Siblings Day.
Mother's Day is just nine days away, and we're freaking out because we have YET to find the perfect gift for our mothers. While we'd give the special women in our lives the entire world if we could, they'll be just as happy with much smaller presents (and our wallets are extremely grateful for that).
A few Restaurants we can take our Moms to:
Cafe Sydney, 5th floor, Customs House, Alfred St.[/b]
The views don’t get much better than the one on offer at this city restaurant.
Popular with the corporate crowd, for the past 15 years the restaurant has been offering guests one of the best lookouts over Sydney Harbour to compliment its modern Australian dishes.
Otto Ristorant e,[/b] 6 Cowper Wharf Rd[/b]
Situated on the Finger Wharf at Woolloomooloo, this popular Italian restaurant employs the motto to live well is to eat well.
Bought by the Fink Family in 2006, the kitchen has been headed by Richard Ptacnik for 10 years.
The Tilbury Hotel, 2-18 Nicholson St[/b]
Nestled one street back from the Finger Wharf, this local pub has been reinvigorated in the past year under head chef Elton Inglis.
The dining room has an elegant yet relaxed feel, while the menu is modern Australian with a focus on seafood and some unique dishes, thanks in large part to Inglis’ love for combining fruit with meat.
Niji Restaurant and Bar, 21 Bay St[/b]
This Double Bay restaurant is the second venue from the group responsible for popular Kingsford bar Niji Sushi.
With its authentic Japanese design, this more formal venue offers an extensive selection of charcoal grill, sashimi, sushi, tempura, hot, cold and smoked dishes.
La Scala on Jersey, corner of Jersey Rd and Melrose Lane[/b]
Chef Massimo Mele has recently come on board as head chef at this Italian favourite, that has just undergone extensive renovations.
Now offering a bar and a communal dining table, Mele has also introduced a new a la carte menu that’s filled with Italian antipasto and mains designed to be shared.
