Mortgage applications rose 2.2% last week: MBA (Market Watch)
With rates on fixed-rate mortgages lower last week, applications for mortgages rise a seasonally adjusted 2.2% on a week-to-week basis, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. However, filings are down 28.6% for the week ended Oct. 3 compared with the same week in 2007, the MBA's data show.
