As you all probably know, the center is thinking about carving out more states from some of our bigger states. It was not long back when the new states of Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttaranchal (C-J-U) were created in a similar way.
Divide and Conquer' is one of the most common techniques employed in computer/management sciences to solve a complex problem. Extending the same paradigm to state administration, I feel we're bringing in more efficient administration by smaller states. Smaller the problem, easier the administration going to be.
On the flip side, Center has to ensure a completely neutral mechanism to settle inter state disputes that may grow without bounds.
